MA 399 Special Topics - Cryptography
Classical and modern cryptography and cryptanalysis, including substitution, Vigenère, Hill, permutation, stream, block, DES, RSA, and Public Key cryptosystems. Also included are Shannon's Theory, and classical, linear, and differential cryptanalysis. Mathematics utilized includes modular arithmetic, linear algebra, number theory, and probability and statistics. Mathematica software for most algorithms will be provided and utilized.
Prerequisite: MA 301 and MA 322, or permission of the instructor.
