Mathematics Requirement for Middle Childhood Teachers

Students who intend to become Middle Childhood Teachers (grades 4 - 9, ages 9 - 14) with an emphasis in mathematics must pass the following seven (7) mathematics courses:

1. MA 102 Mathematics for Middle School Teachers
2. MA 123 Elementary Statistics
3. MA 141 Calculus I
4. MA 142 Calculus II
5. MA 222 History of Mathematics
6. MA 322 Linear Algebra
7. plus one course chosen from:
   • MA 110 Introduction to Finite Mathematics
   • MA 120 Precalculus
   • MA 125 Elementary Discrete Mathematics
   • MA 241 Calculus III

These students should consult their advisors and the Education Department for additional requirements.
