Mathematics Requirements for High School Mathematics Teachers
Students who intend to become High School Mathematics Teachers (grades 7 - 12, ages 9 - 21) must major in mathematics, and must pass the following mathematics courses:
- either MA 123 Elementary Statistics or MA 405 Mathematical Statistics I;
- either MA 125 Elementary Discrete Mathematics or MA 362 Discrete Mathematics;
- the 4-semester hour section of MA 400 College Geometry;
- MA 395 The Teaching of Mathematics (this course takes the place of AE 335).
These students should consult their advisors and the Education Department for required education courses and additional requirements.
