There is an organization in Alliance called the Technology Alliance Accelerator (TA2) , whose purpose is to encourage small startup companies trying to create and sell a software product to base themselves in Alliance. TA2 likes to especially help students with software ideas they may have, so once a month they hold “Open Office”, a chance for students to get together with people with business experience to discuss their ideas in a safe, friendly, and encouraging environment. They are starting up again for the new school year on Thursday, September 19, at 8 pm in the North Reading Room on the 3rd floor of KHIC. This first session will introduce Open Office to new students; Bumble Media will also be discussed. Next month, an open-source developer, Chad Whitacre, will present his open-source project, Gittip.
