Congratulations on deciding to encourage and facilitate the completion of Science Research Projects for your students. While deciding to incorporate Science Research Projects into your classroom can be a daunting task, the dividends for your students make the experience extremely worthwhile. The resources and information on this page are meant to help you hold a local science fair, aid your students in their research, and send them to District competition.

Teacher Handbook-please download and read this document.  THERE ARE MANY CHANGES THIS YEAR WITH THE NEW REGISTRATION PROCESS!! It includes all the information you will need to guide your students' participation in District 13 Science Day.

Also, it is vitally important that you help your students fill-out the required paperwork and ensure they register on Stem Wizard and upload all required documents to the site.

Filling out the paperwork

Each teacher sending students to District Science Day will be asked to evaluate each submission on Stem Wizard with the students and make sure all appropriate forms are filled out correctly and uploaded to the site.  Here is a checklist to assist you.  Please include a hardcopy of this checklist for each student, along with the registration checks.  

Required Forms Checklist

All teachers are asked to mail the completed Required Forms Checklist for each student they are sending to District Science Day, as well as the $25 registration fee for each student by February 23, 2016.  Checks should be made out to The University of Mount Union with District 13 Science Day in the Memo.  Mail forms and checks to:

Teachers are also asked to help solicit judges and one volunteer for District Science Day. For every 3 projects you are sending to District Science Day, you must supply 1 judge. Each school must also supply 1 volunteer. This can be a parent of a student participating. Ask your judges and volunteers to please register online by February 26, 2016, and indicate, in the appropriate box, that they are representing your school.




Important Dates

February 6, 2016: Last day to submit request to participate in District 13 Science Day if outside District 13 (see District Science Day page for more info)

February 23, 2016: Online participant registration closes; all fees and project forms due; EARLY JUDGING notifications DUE

February 26, 2016: Online judge and volunteer registration closes

March 5, 2016: District 13 Science Day at the University of Mount Union

April 2, 2016: Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair, Columbus Ohio

May 8-13, 2016: International Science and Engineering Fair Phoenix, Arizona

May 14, 2016: State Science Day at The Ohio State University
